Trader's Film Library #22 · Markets and trading in fiction. A light film about how life is more than a screen with a chart.

Original title: A Good Year · Type: film · Created by: Ridley Scott · Usefulness for traders: ★★☆☆☆
What it's about
London trader Max Skinner (Russell Crowe) inherits a vineyard in Provence. He goes there to sell it and comes back with a different outlook on life.
What it has to do with markets
At the start of the film Max is a typical aggressive trader from a London trading floor. The rest is a story about how work and results aren't the whole of life.
Lessons for traders
- market work consumes you if there are no boundaries (Trader fitness, Performance #11)
- breaks and recovery are part of performance (#18 breaks during the year)
- your identity isn't just trading
What to watch out for
A romantic comedy. Trading only in the opening scenes.
